Bridal Preparations ~ Whether or not your bridal preparations are shot depends on your timing for the day. It is so amazing to capture those shots where the bride and her bridesmaids, mom, etc. are getting ready for the exciting day ahead. (Hair, make-up, putting on that beautiful dress, etc. ) These moments tend to be emotional, and fun at the same time. The preparations leading up to that trip down the isle are just as important and meaningful. I always try to tell my brides to pick some place that means something to you and where you'll feel most comfortable to get ready. For convenience sake, many brides like to get ready at the church dressing room. This allows me to capture the girls getting ready and if the guys arrive early, I can get a few shots of them before the ceremony too. It is also nice because I can capture a few shots of guests coming into the church. The Groom & His Groomsmen ~ After shooting bridal preparations, if there is enough time, I will capture the groom and his groomsmen hanging out, having some laughs, exchanging some gifts, etc. moments before the ceremony. It all depends on how you set the timeframe for your day. I've found through taking those pre-ceremony pictures that the Groom tends to be more nervous than the Bride before their walk down the isle. Who would have guessed? Ceremony ~ I will capture as much of the ceremony as allowed by the church. Some churches will not allow any pictures to be taken during the service and we have to re-create those precious moments after the ceremony, others will allow pictures but without a flash and some allow any and all types of photography during any part of the ceremony (I like those kinds, but they are quite rare.) I am not one of those photographers that are running around the church alter, getting in the pastor/priest's way, and putting my camera in your face while you are saying your vows. I stay my distance an use my zoom lenses to capture great shots without interrupting the ceremony. Formal Shots ~ After or Before the ceremony (depending on whether or not you want to see each other before you walk down the isle), I will begin setting up for the formal shots at the church. These shots usually only take about 35 to 45 minutes (depending on how many people are in your wedding party) and mainly include posed shots of the bride, groom, bridal party, parents of both the bride and groom, siblings and grandparents. If other shots are desired, simply ask! That's what I'm here for. The bride and I sit down and discuss each formal photo she wants taken so I don't miss any. If time allows, we can also go to a local place of interest such as a park, garden, or simply outside of the church, etc. for additional formal pictures. I prefer these shots using the natural lighting of the sun and people tend to be more at ease once they leave the church walls. If you prefer, we can do all the shots outside, just choose a place! To give you an estimate of timing, it takes me about 10 minutes to get my lighting set up for formal shots indoors. I usually do this while the receiving line is taking place so I'm ready to go when you are. It takes me about 15 minutes to get my lighting torn down after the formal shots are taken before we can move on to outdoors formals or to the reception. So this is great time to talk with family, friends, parents or even better, take your new spouse aside and take in the moment. The day goes by so quick that sometimes a bride and groom forget to enjoy each other's company for a brief moment. Reception ~ Let the fun begin!!! Please do not hesitate to ask me to take pictures of certain people, activities, etc. during the reception. I am there for YOU and to capture your memories. Encourage your guests to feel free to do the same. I don't really take any formal shots here except maybe the cutting of the cake, everything here consists of candid photojournalistic shots. If there is a great photo location on-site, I may steal you away from the reception for a quick shot here or there. The reception shots are the most memorable because you can feel the emotion radiating from the pictures. When your 8 hour coverage is up, I will first check with you before I head out to make sure that you don't have any other important photos that you'd like me to take before I leave. Also, as stated previously, if you still have one more event such as the dollar dance, I will speak with the DJ to make sure he/she gets the ball rolling on the event and I will stay for the last event, at no extra cost to you. I realize that weddings do not run on schedule and that is no fault of yours. Waiting for Your Memories ~ Your pictures will be done in about 4 to 6 weeks from your wedding date, not 4 - 6 months like many photographers who make you wait, wait and wait some more for your memories. You will get a copy of ALL of your pictures on DVD's in .JPG format so you can easily print, email, crop and share your photos with family and friends. I will also include a PRINT RELEASE form that allows you may make any reprints/enlargements, etc. at your convenience. This makes sure no one gives you a hard time when you try to make your own reprints. It basically states that I give you my permission to make your own photo reprints, enlargements, etc. Not many photographers will give you this because they want you to come back to them for your reprints so they can drive the price up by as much as 300% and make a huge profit. You are in control of your photos. Once you pick up the DVD's, the print release form gives you full rights to your prints. Print and enlarge as many as you'd like for a price you can afford. The Best Part ~ You will receive ALL OF YOUR PICTURES ON DVD's. All of the pictures will be in color, and all of the same pictures are transferred over to black and white so you will have your choice with EVERY photo. The DVD's allow you to make your own enlargements, and reprints for next to nothing in cost.
